HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO RENT A STORAGE UNIT?

We offer month-to-month leases, meaning there are no long-term contracts and no commitment.

DO I NEED TENANT INSURANCE?

We do not insure the contents of the unit whatsoever, we highly recommend that you make sure your property is properly insured. You may carry your own insurance (check your homeowner’s or renter’s policy to see if you are already covered) or sign up for a policy on-site with StorSmart Tenant Insurance. StorSmart offers policies that will insure your goods for things such as leaks, fire, burglary, etc., and require no deductible if you have to file a claim. The policy even insures your things during the move up to a 100 mile radius from the facility! Please ask the facility manager for details on plans and coverages.

DO I HAVE TO HAVE MY OWN LOCK?

You provide your own lock and key so that you are the only one with access to your storage unit. No worries though, we sell high-quality locks at each location so come empty handed!

WHEN CAN I ACCESS MY BELONGINGS?

Our gate access hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

HOW MUCH NOTICE MUST BE GIVEN BEFORE I CAN MOVE OUT?

It is the responsibility of the tenant to notify the facility upon vacating the unit, failure to do so may result in future charges, please give us as much notice as possible but at least 5 days. Full details on the vacating policy will be provided to you at the time of move-in.

DO YOU OFFER MOVING ASSISTANCE?

All of our facilities have local, reliable movers that we recommend. Some of our locations do have vans or trucks that can be rented to help with your move, please contact your facility for full details.

WHAT IS AN ADMINISTRATIVE FEE?
An administrative fee or "admin fee," is a one-time fee charged at the time of move-in. This is a very common fee in the storage industry used to offset the costs of setting up your tenant account and processing the move-in documents. The admin fee is typicall between $20-$30 and replaces a security deposit charge.

HOW CAN I MAKE A PAYMENT?

Payments can be processed by mail, in person, or through our website. You may also arrange to have your payment automatically credit to your card or debited to your account. Please ask your manager about this feature. Some of our facilities are equipped with a payment drop box; however, we do not recommend this method for cash payments.

WHAT SIZES DO YOU HAVE AND HOW MUCH DO THEY COST?

We have a wide variety of unit sizes available to meet your needs. Unit sizes and prices will vary by location. Please visit the location tab for the facility nearest you or give us a call for current availability.

WHAT SIZE STORAGE UNIT DO I NEED?

Our expert managers can assist you in determining the right unit size for you. Simply give us a brief description of what will be stored and we’ll help you determine how much space is needed. You can also use the size guide on our website.

WHAT IS "CLIMATE CONTROLLED?"

It is a storage feature that keeps spaces heated and cooled depending on outside temperature. 

DO I NEED CLIMATE CONTROLLED STORAGE?

We recommend climate controlled units for anything that would not be safe to store in your garage.  This mainly depends on preference, location, and length of stay, but we recommend climate controlled self storage units for anything like electronics, paintings, things that could rust, etc.

CAN I USE A CREDIT CARD TO MAKE A PAYMENT?

Yes, we accept all major credit/debit cards,  as well as checks and cash. Enroll in our "no late fee guarantee" by setting up your credit card on our auto bill pay feature.

WHERE CAN I BUY LOCKS AND PACKING/MOVING SUPPLIES?

We sell high-quality locks with a lifetime warranty at a discounted price. We also offer boxes and moving supplies. Ask about our merchandise discounts!

WHAT KIND OF DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO RENT A STORAGE UNIT?

A valid driver’s license or federal ID with picture is required to lease a unit. Watercraft, automobiles, RVs, or trailers must be accompanied by current registration and proof of insurance.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE MY TRANSACTION ON MOVE-IN DAY?

The entire move-in process should take less than 10 minutes. Don't forget you can move in completely online at your own pace and access the unit in just minutes anytime during access hours!
